Keith R. Reinhardt, MD

Keith R. Reinhardt, MD FAAOS specializes in adult reconstructive surgery of the hip and knee, including primary and revision joint replacements. He is the Chief of Joint Reconstruction and founder of the Institute for Joint Replacement at South Shore University Hospital. Dr. Reinhardt holds the academic title of Assistant Professor at the Donald and Barbara Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell. He is also an active member of the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons, the premier international professional society dedicated to the study and treatment of hip and knee disorders.

Dr. Reinhardt grew up on the South Shore of Long Island before attending Cornell University for his undergraduate studies, where he was a Cornell Tradition Scholar and graduated with distinction at the top of his class. He completed his medical school education at NYU Langone and was a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha medical honor society. He then trained at some of the most prestigious orthopaedic institutions in the world, including the Hospital for Special Surgery where he developed a keen interest in hip and knee replacement. This inspired him to pursue subspecialty training in a fellowship in Adult Joint Reconstruction at Harvard Brigham and Women s Hospital.

Dr. Reinhardt has achieved many awards and honors throughout his career. While at Hospital for Special Surgery he was awarded the prestigious Lewis Clark Wagner MD Award for excellence in clinical/translational research, and during his fellowship at Harvard he was chosen to receive the exclusive Current Concepts in Joint Replacement Foundation Scholarship.

Dr. Reinhardt is committed to ongoing education and research and advancing the field of joint replacement. He is actively involved in clinical research and continues to pursue the most advanced technology for his patients, including robotics. Dr. Reinhardt draws on his diverse educational and training experiences to deliver the highest quality personalized care to his patients with the goal of reducing pain and optimizing function.

Compliance Officer and may also be reviewed by other applicable departments.
